Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor-in-Residence of Finance in the Lee Business School [R0139881].
 
ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Finance in the Lee Business School (LEE) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for multiple non-tenure track Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor-in-Residence positions in the area of finance. The standard teaching load for non-tenure track positions is 4 courses (12 credits) per semester. The position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and related topics (such as financial literacy, corporate finance, investments, banking, and risk management and insurance) in both in-person and online modalities. Additional responsibilities may include advising students, engaging in service activities, and interacting with the community.
 
PROFILE of the COLLEGE
The Lee Business School, which is accredited by the AACSB, is home to approximately 85 faculty and 4,000 students, including 500 graduate students. The school offers ten bachelor's degrees and seven master’s degrees, including a Master of Quantitative Finance and MBA programs.
 
PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT
The Department of Finance is experiencing tremendous growth. The Department recently received a significant endowment and established the Kerestesi Center for Insurance and Risk Management. The Department has two student-managed investment funds. The faculty have published in JF, JFE, RFS, AER, JPE, MS, TAR, JFQA, FM, JCF, JBF, and other reputable journals. The research resources include the WRDS platform, CRSP, Compustat, ISS (RiskMetrics), ExecuComp, BoardEx and FactSet and an active research seminar series.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Master’s or PhD degree in Finance or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree in Finance or a related field. If the degree is from a business school, it must be AACSB-accredited. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a college work environment. Excellence in teaching should be supported by teaching evaluations.
 
The title of the position will be determined based on the qualifications of the individual candidate. A candidate with a terminal PhD degree will be considered for the title of Assistant Professor-in-Residence. A candidate whose highest degree is a master’s and who has significant experience will be considered for the title of Senior Lecturer. A candidate whose highest degree is a master’s who does not have significant experience will be considered for the title of Lecturer.
 
A successful candidate, for all positions, must be “Academically Qualified” under the AACSB requirement, which means periodic publications in peer-reviewed journals.
 
ABDs will be considered. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

SALARY RANGE
Salary range for lecturer, senior lecturer, and assistant professor-in-residence is $80,000 - $130,000, depending on position rank, as well as candidate’s education, experience, and credentials.
