City Experiences is seeking a Boat Tour Server for our City Cruises operation in San Diego.

About the Opportunity:

Provide quality dining and attentive service to our guests in a variety of food & beverage related tasks. Assist with the safe operation of the vessel during bay cruises and while offshore in the open seas. Days, weekend, and holiday shifts are available. Days, weekend, and holiday shifts are available.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve patrons food & beverage orders quickly, following established procedures
  • Produce simple food products using on board galley equipment
  • Assist bartenders with beverage production, as well as breaking down equipment and cleaning the yacht at the end of shift.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, relaying them to the proper personnel. Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.
  • Setup and breakdown concession and bar areas, dining areas, prep areas, equipment and stations for events.
  • Ability to multitask and work at a fast pace while maintaining poise and grace.
  • Secure necessary supplies for the day's business.
  • Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness.
  • Greet and provide attentive service to the guests.
  • Check I.D. on any customer ordering alcohol who looks under 30 years old.
  • Follow written guidelines on all cash handling procedures
  • Maintains attendance and punctuality that is observant of scheduled hours on a regular basis.
  • Willingness to be a team player and assist with vessel preparation and closure
  • Loading and unloading food and supplies onto boats as needed. At the end of the day, restock and reorder food and supplies for the next business day.
  • Maintain specified grooming practices and uniform standards
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment throughout the day, according to standard health code. Report any equipment malfunctions to the proper department.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, and proactive, with a strong attention to detail
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all supply and storage areas
  • Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs
  • Work and collaborate with the operations team to create amazing guest experience
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of cocktail preparation and awareness of beverage trends

  • At least two years of bartending experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, stand for up to eight hours, and lift and move up to 50 pounds; ability to go up and down narrow stairs

  • Food Handler Certification required; TIPS certification desirable

  • Ability to stay calm and composed in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to be a team player, handling bar duties and assisting with vessel preparation and closure
